Every year on June 8, organizations around the world join together to observe World Oceans Day and draw attention to the critical need for change. At the National Aquarium, we recognize the importance of this event and believe ocean health starts at home.
A Month-long Celebration
From June 8–26, join us in Baltimore and Washington, DC, for Beyond the Boardwalk. Take a closer, local look at ocean health through a series of fun programs and events. Explore the beauty of the underwater world, the ocean's connection to local waterways, and the role we all play in protecting our big blue planet.
World Oceans Day
June 8: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. (Baltimore & DC)
Kicks off a month-long series of events and marks an international event celebrating our ocean planet. Special programming and crafts throughout the day. Plus, wear blue in support of ocean health!

Tots and Tales: Summer Edition! June 11, 18, and 25: 10–11 a.m. (Baltimore)
Summer edition of our Tots and Tales program celebrating ocean diversity and the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss' One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Listen and learn about the different animals that live in oceans near and far. Program starts at 10 a.m. with a Dr. Seuss story reading, followed by an animal encounter and children's music.

Summer Fun Festival June 26: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. (Baltimore & DC)
Both Aquarium venues come alive with exciting events for kids and adults to take a closer look at our watery planet and the role we play in keeping oceans healthy—for us and the animals. Take part in special activities, games, and face painting; dance to live music; and more!
Plus, in Baltimore, celebrate the launch of Dora & Diego’s 4-D Adventure: Catch That Robot Butterfly, now playing in the 4-D Immersion Theater. Meet Diego and get a picture taken with him from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. » Learn more
