Living Seashore: One Year Later

Today marks the one-year anniversary of our Living Seashore exhibit!

Published May 12, 2016

On May 12, 2015, we introduced guests to our most interactive exhibit yet, Living Seashore, which celebrates the natural wonders of the Mid-Atlantic’s coastal ecosystem.

To date, more than 1 million people (including @VP!) have visited our gallery, which features two touchpools and a variety of hands-on experiences.

The exhibit’s touchpools contain more than 5,000 gallons of salt water and are teeming with aquatic life, including Atlantic stingrays, horseshoe crabs and moon jellies!

As they explore Living Seashore, guests uncover the many hidden treasures of the Atlantic shore, leaving with a new appreciation for the unique habitat the exhibit recreates.
