Report Seafood Fraud
Though the Oceana report demonstrates that seafood fraud is a pervasive issue, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is trying to combat this dangerous practice. NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement investigates individual mislabeling cases, and consumers also can play a role in helping NOAA identify seafood fraud. The public can send information on possible mislabeling violations by emailing safe.seafood@noaa.gov or by calling the toll-free hotline 1-800-853-1964.
