Dolphin Encounter Pre-Reservation Details

Please read the following information to help you better prepare for your Dolphin Encounter Immersion Tour.

Dolphin Encounter Participants and Observers:

  2. You cannot participate in the Dolphin Encounter if you are pregnant.  Please see our Immersion Tour programming list for a program that can accommodate pregnant women.
  3. You must be attentive and follow the instruction of our trainers at all times. Our dolphins have been trained for this program however as wild animals their behavior can still be unpredictable.
  4. Please do not wear any jewelry – including wedding rings. All jewelry must be removed prior to going to on deck with the dolphins. The Aquarium will lock up any jewelry but is not responsible for loss or damage. There is a good chance that your clothing will come into contact with salt water, and you will get wet. We suggest wearing quick drying clothing.  Please wear non-slip, closed toe shoes (no flip flops, crocs or high heels).
  5. Not all portions of this program are fully accessible. Guests with disabilities: please call 410-576-3833, for accessibility information. Due to the structure of the Dolphin pool and platform, guests who are unable to kneel or lie on the ground without assistance may only participate in our Dolphin Encounter program as an Observer.

Dolphin Encounter Participants:

  1. In order for you to get close enough to touch our dolphins you must be physically able to kneel and/or lie on your stomach for up to 15 minutes at a time without assistance.
  2. You will not be permitted to enter the Dolphin pools at any time but it is important that you have basic swimming ability as you will be interacting with the dolphins next to a deep water pool.
  3. Encounter participants are not permitted to bring a camera on the platform.  The Aquarium will lock up any cameras but is not responsible for loss or damage. Program participants will receive a 5 x 7 photo of
your experience included in the program fee.

Dolphin Encounter Observers:

  1. During the dolphin interaction portion of the program, you will be seated nearby where you can enjoy watching and take your own photos or videos using hand held personal equipment (no tripods permitted). However, be advised: we cannot guarantee an unobstructed view of all dolphin interactions. The Aquarium is not responsible for loss or damage to personal equipment.
  2. For safety reasons, observers must stay in the designated seating area and will not be allowed on the dolphin deck area. Sorry no exceptions.
  3. Only one Observer ticket will be sold to each Dolphin Encounter Guest due to space limitations.
