The selected candidate will aid in the implementation of field components of the Chesapeake Bay Initiative, focusing on tidal wetland restoration, and will be responsible for technical and clerical assistance for the Conservation Department staff as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with field projects including wetland planting, monitoring and maintenance.
- Collect and compile data on wetland restoration projects.
- Create GIS maps to interpret data. Responsible for data collection and entry, after review, reporting all laboratory results.
- Participates in the training of volunteer staff involved in conservation field projects.
- Helps perform public relations functions associated with conservation programs.
- Participates in Conservation Department staff meetings and other ad hoc meetings as necessary.
Requirements:
- Juniors or seniors interested in environmental science with course work in biology and ecology.
- Summer internships not available.
- Must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work within the selected term.
