The selected candidate will serve as support staff for the External Affairs department, including the Government Relations staff. This individual should be creative, energetic, organized, and have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Essential Functions
- Assist with planning and preparation for meet and greet functions and special tours
- Assist with planning and attending special events, VIP tours, cultivation, etc.
- Prepare various types of cultivation packets
- Assist with VIP research and researches background information on key issues
- Assists with hearing and briefing materials
- Research and update mailing lists and data files
- Provide correspondence with the local community about community programs and events
- Provide database management support including database entry
- Assist with screening donation request
- Assist with drafting articles for newsletters
- Assist in designing gift packages for various events
- Assist with mass mailings.
Requirements
- Applicants must be working toward a degree in any of the following: public administration, journalism, English, sociology, marketing, public relations, political science, communications, urban development, business, or a related field.
- Computer skills are necessary.
- Creative skills and/or talents are welcomed.
- Must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work within the selected term.
