The selected candidate will provide assistance to Aquarium media relations activities.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with writing, proofreading, copying, and distributing press materials (press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, follow up letters, etc.)
- Fulfills media requests for press kits, photos, and information
- Assists with planning and facilitation of special events
- Assists with the coordination of media visits to the Aquarium, from escorting film crews around the building to arranging interviews with appropriate staff
- Completes special projects and/or reports when assigned
- Researches, as necessary, to verify facts for press materials
- Assists with the maintenance of media archives and clippings
Requirements:
- College sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in communications, English, public relations, or a related field.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to operate within Microsoft Office systems.
- Must be able to present writing samples and references.
- Must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work within the selected term.
