Every year, thousands of marine animals strand on beaches, sick or injured and near death. The Aquarium is one of a very few facilities on the East Coast that is able to provide hospital care for large critically injured marine animals.
Since 1991, the National Aquarium's Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) has responded to more than 480 animals in distress and has rehabilitated and released more than 90 marine animals back to their natural environment. Research, satellite tag tracking, and outreach education are also significant components of this program. Your gift to the National Aquarium makes it possible to continue this important work. It not only makes a difference to each individual life saved, but also helps to make the ocean a safer place for all creatures.
