Baltimore (September 29, 2006) - It's "Free Fall" at the National Aquarium in Baltimore! The Aquarium is delighted to take part in the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts' "Free Fall Baltimore" program, and invite children and their families for an evening of discovery, aquatic adventures and reading from 6 -9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18th.

In addition to visiting the Aquarium's 16,000 animals, young readers and their families can listen as staff members and volunteers read aloud from aquatic-themed children's books throughout the evening. As well, every ticket to the event includes a MTA pass for free bus transportation on October 18. This Free Fall event is offered in partnership with the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Maryland Transit Authority.

The Aquarium event is free, but tickets are required and are limited to a first come, first served basis. Tickets to the event are available starting October 1 and must be obtained in person (sorry, no web distribution) at:

  • Seven branches of the Enoch Pratt Free Library including Central Branch, Govans, Hamilton, Light Street, Northwood, Patterson Park and Canton; or
  • The Aquarium's offices, located in the Candler Building at 111 Market Place, 8th floor, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Tickets are available in packets that include five tickets to the event and five bus passes, and are limited to two packets of tickets - ten tickets and ten bus passes - per person.

This Free Fall Baltimore event is made possible through a grant from the Creative Baltimore Fund.
