November 1, 2004 - Unwrap An Early Holiday Gift: Frogs and Dolphin Flips

Admission To The Aquarium Is Only $1.00 Per Person For Entire Dollar Day Weekend

November 1, 2004 – Baltimore, Md. - In the spirit of holiday giving, the National Aquarium in Baltimore again this year offers an exciting early gift to Maryland residents: an opportunity for a memorable visit amid the wonders of the sea. Aquarium admission will be only $1.00 per person on Saturday, December 4 and Sunday, December 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dollar Days has been a tradition for local residents since the Aquarium opened in 1981.

Dollar Days gives visitors the opportunity to see the Aquarium’s new dolphin show, Play! During each show, visitors will learn about dolphins and their environment, participate in a wild game of catch (with the dolphins showing off their “ball whacking” skills)—and maybe even get soaked by a fluke fling!

For just one dollar, everyone can enjoy a fascinating day exploring the Aquarium’s 10,500 animals in recreated habits.  They’ll encounter – safely, of course – menacing sharks just inches away; saunter through an exotic tropical rain forest; and discover dwarf caimans, and the red tailed catfish in the terrestrial and aquatic Amazon River Forest. Next, guests can venture to the Atlantic Coral Reef where they can enjoy a diver’s eye view of hundreds of brilliantly colored tropical fish.

Dollar Days are presented by GEICO, with support from Yellow Book USA and Southwest Airlines and media partners Fox 45, and WB 54.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore, a non-profit organization, is Maryland’s most exciting and popular cultural attraction, as well as one of the region’s leading conservation and education resources, hosting more than 1.6 million visitors per year. The Aquarium’s mission is to connect people with aquatic life in order to create a better world for both. It is dedicated to education and conservation through more than a dozen programs that serve the environment and the community.
