What:
The Aquarium will celebrate Black History Month with the following activities include:
- A presentation of Black Watermen of the Chesapeake performed by the Aquarium’s very own national award winning Aquarium On Wheels
- A special dive presentation and chat with divers at the Wings On the Water exhibit
- David T. Terry, PhD, Director of Collections and Exhibitions, of the Reginald M. Lewis Museum of African American History, will be giving a mini-lecture on Black Waterman at 6:30 p.m.
- A chance to meet the staff and learn more about the new Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African American History (staff of the museum will be on-site)
In addition, as with any visit to the aquarium, guest will also enjoy our new dolphin show, PLAY! and be mesmerized by more than 10,500 aquatic creatures. Southwest Airlines, Fox 45, and WB 54 are proud supporters of the National Aquarium in Baltimore’s Black History Month Celebration.

Cost:
This event occurs on a Fridays after Five date, so Aquarium admission and all events cost $5 per person.
Additional Information:
A special Black History Month AQUADOPT is currently for sale. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Aquarium’s Henry Hall program, a scholarship program for Baltimore City youth. The Aquadopt will feature an African Butterfly Fish and retail for $60.00.
