On Saturday, January 17, 2009, President-Elect Obama will be visiting Baltimore on his way to his inauguration and will deliver a speech near City Hall at Baltimore's War Memorial Plaza. The speech is scheduled to commence at 4:15 p.m. Gates are set to open at 1:00 p.m. at Baltimore Street and Guilford Avenue.
Aquarium Preparations
Additionally, Aquarium visitors and overflow speech-goers will have a chance to see and hear the speech on a large screen in front of the Aquarium on Pier 3 in the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Waterfront Park.
Early Close
The Aquarium will close early on Saturday for President-Elect Obama's visit to Baltimore. Last ticket will be sold at 4:00 p.m. Visitors may tour the Aquarium for up to 90 minutes after the ticket center closes. Please note: guest Locker service will be unavailable for the day.
Parking
The garages at Gay Street (Inner Harbor Garage/Landmark Parking, the Aquarium's official parking partner) and Market Place (Lockwood Plaza) will be closed on Saturday at 4:00 a.m. Vehicles in the garages after 4:00 a.m. will be towed by Baltimore City.

Public Transit
MTA's Shot Tower/Market Place station will be closed until after the event. MTA bus routes serving the War Memorial Plaza area on Saturday are Nos. 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 15, 19, 20, 23, 35, 36, 40 and 64.
