Through scientific investigations, discover why oysters are important to the health of the Chesapeake Bay. Touch a live horseshoe crab. Get an up-close look at the Northern Territory of Australia – a land of fire, flood, and drought – in the Aquarium's Glass Pavilion. Explore all this and more with our educational programs at the Aquarium.

Programs focus on selected topics and allow students to engage in inquiry-based science while interacting with artifacts and living animals. All programs support the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum.

Teacher booklets are available to provide classroom activities that prepare your students for the program and facilitate reflection and discussion after the visit. Where appropriate, activities model performance assessment.

Program fees are waived for the first 3,000 Maryland school students with a reservation.
