Grab your binoculars and join a National Aquarium naturalist on a journey to discover the sights and sounds of the animal world! Explore our exhibits in search of animal tracks and seashells in the sand, listen for birdcalls and uncover other clues left behind by the animals that live all around us. Through hands-on activities and investigation, you’ll learn the stories of our animal neighbors, but be sure to watch your step! You never know what you might find on this interactive adventure for junior explorers.
This tour is designed for guests that are between 5 and 10 years of age, but is open to all ages. All guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, including if you miss your tour due to late arrival. If the Aquarium cancels your program, you’ll have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

No. Guests must be at least 8 years old to visit behind-the-scenes areas, so this tour was designed with our young explorers in mind!
There are no age restrictions on this tour, but it’s a perfect fit for guests from 4 to 8 years old.
A parent or guardian must accompany all participants under the age of 16. Minors 16 years of age or older may participate with a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians accompanying children must be at least 18 years old. For example, a 17-year-old may attend a tour with a signed waiver, but their 10-year-old sibling may not accompany them without an adult.
Not all of the animals you’ll see on your tour are available for guest interaction. We try to bring you as close to our animals as possible, but for both your safety and that of our animals, we cannot guarantee the opportunity to touch or handle an animal.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes, as you’ll be traveling around the Aquarium.
Strollers are not allowed in the Aquarium and should be checked prior to the start of your tour. Strollers are permitted for guests with disabilities.
Yes! You’re free to explore the Aquarium during our regular hours before or after your tour. To enter the building, please use the Pier 3 Staff Entrance located directly across from the U.S.S. Torsk submarine.
