The Aquarium's web site seeks to create lasting connections between people and the aquatic world, to set the stage for a visit to the Aquarium, and to foster knowledge about the aquatic world and its inter-relationship with all of us.

2009

Aqua.org was honored with two silver W3 awards for its new Jellies microsite, which complements the exhibit Jellies Invasion: Oceans Out of Balance, in the categories of Activism and Visual Appeal.

2007

In 2007, Aqua.org received a silver W3 award for the Online Trip Planner tool. Plan what you want to see on your visit to the Aquarium, then print or e-mail your customized itinerary.

2006

Judges of the 2006 Webby Awards competition, sponsored by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, named Aqua.org an Official Honoree for its new section Frogs! A Chorus of Color.

The Society of National Association Publications conferred two 2006 GOLD SNAP Awards for Excellence in Design and Editorial Excellence on the Aquarium's web site. The competition, which includes both print and online media, attracts more than a thousand entries each year.

Also for 2006, Aqua.org was cited as the Best Nonprofit Online Campaign by the 2006 Internet Advertising Competition. The annual competition draws entries from across the United States and around the world.

2005

The Webby Awards, hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by The New York Times, announced that Aqua.org won The People's Voice Award for Best Cultural Institution Web Site. More than 200,000 people from around the world cast ballots for this prestigious award. We are grateful to our community of online visitors.

2003

The web site was recognized as an outstanding web site by the Web Marketing Association and earned the WebAward. Aqua.org was recognized for its outstanding design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use.
