Emerald tree boas are an exquisite green color, and some have striking white marks along the dorsal midline. As juveniles, these snakes range from yellow to orange or red.
Arboreal, or tree-dwelling, in nature, this snake’s tail is strongly prehensile, which means it is adapted to grasp or hold objects.

They can reach over 6 feet in length.
Range
They are found in northern Brazil, eastern Peru, southern Colombia, southern Venezuela, French Guiana, eastern Ecuador, Suriname, Guyana and the extreme north of Bolivia.
Population Status
This population is not considered threatened.
Predators
As adults, only raptors prey on emerald tree boas.
