The National Aquarium is pleased to announced that Government Affairs Director Sarah K. Elfreth has been selected as a 2014 recipient of The Daily Record’s “20 in Their Twenties” award.
The Daily Record created “20 in Their Twenties” in 2011 to recognize young professionals whose creativity and entrepreneurial spirit are contributing to a new energy in Maryland. Winners were selected on the basis of their professional accomplishments, community involvement and the impact of their achievements.
“It's no surprise to me that Sarah would be recognized for her talent and accomplishments,” said John Racanelli, executive director for the National Aquarium. “Her work on behalf of the national aquarium not only benefits our organization but the communities we serve. I don't doubt we will see big things from her in the future, as she and others in her generation help further our mission.”
As government affairs director, Elfreth is responsible for advocating for the Aquarium’s mission at the local, state and federal government levels. The public policy expert works to shape the future of the National Aquarium and help conserve aquatic life everywhere. Her day-to-day duties involve traveling throughout Maryland to flag down legislators, spreading positive messages about conserving our oceans.
The 20 in Their Twenties awards are judged by past honorees and a staff member from The Daily Record. The awards will be presented at a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception on Wednesday, June 25, at Gertrude’s at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Winners will also be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the Friday, June 27, issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
