The National Aquarium’s presentation of the 2015 Marjorie Lynn Bank Lecture Series will feature a lecture on Sept. 15 entitled “The Extreme Life of the Sea” by world-renowned marine scientist and author Dr. Stephen Palumbi. In his discussion, Dr. Palumbi will explore the absolute limits of the aquatic world—the fastest and deepest, the hottest and oldest creatures of the oceans. From the icy Artic and boiling hydrothermal vents to the eternal darkness of the deepest undersea trenches, Dr. Palumbi will analyze how marine life thrives against the odds. Dr. Palumbi will be joined by his son, Tony, who co-authored “The Extreme Life of the Sea.”
