“Thanks to Transamerica’s support, the Aquarium is able to provide classrooms with hands-on, Chesapeake Bay experiences that teach STEM skills and the importance of conservation. For many students, especially those from Baltimore City, this may be their only opportunity to get their hands wet and feet muddy in the Bay.” -Joe Harber, Director of Education
Sharing our dedication to providing transformational educational experiences for Baltimore City youth, Transamerica is a key supporter of the National Aquarium’s AquaPartners and Henry Hall Conservation Leadership programs. Together, we provide scholarships, exciting excursions and hands-on science labs that change the way students engage with the natural world. Without Transamerica’s generosity, many Baltimore City students would never get a chance to see and experience the Chesapeake Bay first-hand by visiting environments like the Fort McHenry wetlands or Sandy Point State Park. Evaluations show that these programs raise students' understanding of the Bay and their attitudes towards Bay conservation.
