Baby Sloth Update: Meet Fern

Baby Fern is the sixth Linne’s two-toed sloth to be born at the National Aquarium!

On the morning of April 25, Rain Forest staff observed our female sloth, Ivy, giving birth. The newborn, named Fern, is Ivy’s fourth baby.

Ivy and Fern will continue to rest in an area behind the scenes of our exhibit, while our team closely monitors the health of baby and mom.
