Animal Rescue Update: Meet Waffles!

Every year we determine a naming theme for our rescue animals, and this year’s theme is breakfast food!

Published December 05, 2017

Every turtle is assigned an intake number upon arrival, and that number corresponds to their name while in our care. This year, our members were charged with the important task of naming our first rescue turtle. The winning name for our first turtle, number 64, is Waffles!

The naming theme is a way for our staff and volunteers to have some fun while caring for our rescue animals, and this year is no exception! Joining Waffles are turtles with names such as Bagel, Flapjack, Sticky Bun and Huevos Rancheros.

Stay tuned as we continue to provide updates about these turtles and introduce you to more individuals, like Waffles!
