The National Aquarium's internship program offers paid, hands-on opportunities for emerging professionals to gain real-world experience while supporting our mission. Interns will complete 200 hours of work over 10–12 weeks during the summer. Each experience will blend professional development, networking and role-specific placements.
Adults 18 and older are eligible to apply; education requirements vary by position.

The National Aquarium's Youth Exhibit Guide Program gives high school students the opportunity to volunteer at the Aquarium over the summer while gaining career skills.
Professional fellowships at the National Aquarium offer specialized, project-based work that advances our mission. These positions are grant-funded and subject to availability, with timing and duration varying by project. Fellows will gain valuable, hands-on experience while collaborating with Aquarium experts on initiatives that support research, education, sustainability, animal care and animal rescue.
